![]() This is a very old picture of my mom, my little sister and myself. When I was 5 years old, my parents took us to a river area where dinosaur foot prints were fossilized in the stone of the river bank. I remember being told what I was looking at, but my 5 year old self equated foot prints to something alive. I kept scanning the bushes and trees along the bank of the river, looking for the dinosaur that had made those prints. I am told that I came to the conclusion that something that big was hiding and was too scary to face. I retreated to the car, refusing to come out again. :)
Looking at the picture, I am reminded how much imagination is part of a child's world. And, how very real it all feels to a child. Did you have fun with your imagination as a child? Do you still have fun wondering, "what if..."? Making toys that fire up the imagination and get those creative juices flowing is fun for me. I sincerely hope it is fun for you as well. Leave a comment below and share one of your childhood stories where your imagination ran wild. :)

I do remember the day a little differently. You were at first fascinated by the large footprint. I explained to you that the creature had stepped in mud a long long time ago and the mud had hardened into rock.
